Introduction. Earlier research revealed that the decrease in ankle-brachial index (ABI) indicates the presence of atherosclerosis of the arteries of the lower extremities and the increased risk of cardiovascular events, including stroke risk. In Russia, prevalence of risk factors for multifocal atherosclerosis is increased, but the problem of the relationship between pathological ABI levels and cerebrovascular diseases has not yet attracted attention. Materials and Methods. The study included 345 patients after stroke. All patients underwent examination of the state of their peripheral arteries using the device VaSera VS-1000 (Fukuda Denshi, Japan).
