Factors of development of professional stress of law enforcement officers

The article investigates the problem of professional stress development of law enforcement officers, the impact of stress on the performance, reliability and stability of personnel, efficiency and quality of work. To determine the stress factors of professional activity of law enforcement officials the «Job Stress Survey» questionnaire developed by Ch. Spilberger in the adaptation of A. B. Leonova and S. B. Velichkovskaya was used. The severity and frequency of stress factors were assessed by the respondents. The factors that have the greatest severity include huge responsibility for the assigned case, the use of bad or inappropriate equipment, the impossibility or lack of time for short-term rest. In addition, such stressors as the use of bad or inappropriate equipment and excessive workload when working with official documents and information have the highest frequency score. The authors describe two main methods (organizational and individual) of managing professional stress of law enforcement officers for prevention and correction purposes.
