The article describes the results of studying the disabling risk factors in organic mental disorders in young children. Despite the improvement of therapeutic, diagnostic and preventive obstetric and gynecological care, there is an increase in organic mental disorders in childhood, leading to disability. The importance of developing the system of measures to prevent the development of disability in children was determined by the study aim ‒ to investigate risk factors for the formation of disabling organic mental disorders based on the analysis of three groups of factors: hereditary, the state of reproductive health of parents, pregnancy and childbirth. Materials. Two groups of children were examined: the main group (n=596) ‒ children with a verified diagnosis: Personality and behavior disorders caused by illness, injury or dys-function of the brain (F07 according to ICD-10), the control group (n=217) ‒ conditionally healthy children. Methods: clinical-anamnestic, clinical-psychopathological, clinical-follow-up, statistical. Statistical processing of the results was carried out using the “Stats” and “Fifer” packages written for the R3.4.0 programming language. The data were analyzed by the method of comparative analysis of contingency tables and determination of the Pearson χ2 criterion. The method of factorial variance analysis (Iberla K., 1980) was used to highlight the factors that affect the effective trait (disability). As a result of the study, new data were obtained on the risk factors for the formation of organic mental disorders in early childhood with organic mental disorders, and the hierarchy, the power of influence and the contribution of these factors to the formation of disability were assessed. Conclusion. The identified risk factors can be used by obstetricians-gynecologists, pediatricians, neurologists, psychiatrists for the purpose of continuity in the management of patients, on issues of early diagnosis, the formation of risk groups for further observation and the timely initiation of medical and corrective measures.
