Factors influencing the career choice of high school students (case study of the Republic of Tatarstan)

The article reveals the main motives of vocational selfdetermination, describes inner and external factors influencing the career choice of high school students. The study is based on the empirical data obtained in 2014 in urban and rural schools of the Republic of Tatarstan. It is shown, that in the process of career choosing the students mainly rely on their personal interests, aptitudes, individual psychological characteristics. The factor of profession elitism has the least impact on the decision.
