Fake news in modern information and cognitive wars

This article analyzes the concepts of information war, cognitive war, post-truth era, fake news. It examines how these concepts are related and what role the processes of digitalization play in this. The author focuses attention on difference of cognitive warfare and information warfare, and on the role of new media (social networks and messengers) in shaping public opinion today. The paper considers how information wars affect the political process and how fake creation technologies help to form a negative image of the participants in the confrontation.
