The Phenomenon of Blogging: A Sociological Discourse

The rapid advancement of the global Internet network in recent decades of the 21st century has led to the transformation of traditional social processes, such as sharing and receiving information, as well as a paradigm shift in career orientation. The global network has not only enabled the exchange of data but has also facilitated the emergence of new professions of the future, among which blogging has already become prominent. This phenomenon represents an evolution of social interaction, enabled by the development of information technol-ogies. In modern conditions, blogging is perceived as a continuation of a more common concept – freelancing. Blogging as a phenomenon in sociology has not been studied enough, while representatives of this field in Russia are becoming more and more every year. Since blogging is an innovation, the younger generation quickly adapts it to suit themselves. The paper presents the results of studies that make it possible to assess the degree of influence of blogging on young people, comparing the level of impact with the opinion of an older generation. The research focuses on people’s attitudes towards blogging and provides an assessment of its use in everyday life.
