The phenomenon bogatyrstvo in N. V. Gogol's and F. M. Dostoyevsky's interpretation

In the analysis of the prose of Nikolai Gogol and Fyodor Dostoyevsky reconstructed and compared their views on the category of "bohatyrstvo". Covers such important literary issues as interpretation of heroic asceticism in the light of the Orthodox tradition, as well as the role of Nikolai Gogol in the artistic consciousness of Fyodor Dostoevsky. Emphasizes, first, that both the classic phenomenon of perceived bohatyrstvo in the context of the Christian idea of "strength in weakness", focusing on the spiritual, not physical strength of the true bohatyrs; secondly, that the deeds committed not only fearless like a warrior in armor, but also the people "of every rank and place", continually leading the battle against the various manifestations of the disorder in the world and in his own soul. It was found that the embodiment of bohatyrstvo for both writers were holy warriors. Nikolai Gogol, pointing to a sample contemporaries asceticism of bohatyrs, gave the names of the Alexander Peresvet and Andrei Oslabya. Fyodor Dostoyevsky example of bohatyrstvo considered hallowed Russian people Christian hero Ilya Muromets.
