The phenomenon of civilizational choice and culture: towards the analysis of the current situation

Бесплатный доступ

The article deals with the specifics of civilizational processes and civilizational choice as social phenomena. The direct connection of civilizational processes and civilizational choice with the global spread of division of activity, which is the basis for the emergence and domination of private interests and alienation, is shown. Special attention is paid to the difference between culture as a process and culture as a result, as well as to the fact that the"link" of civilizational forms of organizing social life with culture is possible in a negative form for the culture itself if it functions as a result of activity, and not as a process, that is, as arrays of static phenomena or objects ("cultural objects") that allow their external use. It is emphasized that culture as a process takes place as the implementation of integral, creative, creative, socially significant activities by subjects. If it is replaced by systems of actions of a situational, finite nature, this leads to the consolidation and strengthening of alienation, and ultimately leads to the transformation of a person into a functionary, the loss of a person's Self and to the degradation of society as a whole, leading not only to the death of culture, but also to the death of civilization itself.
