Domestic tutorship phenomenon in educational system in Petersburg from 19 th till the beginning of 20 th century

The article shows meanings of terms “domestic tutor”, “domestic teacher”, “domestic nurse”. Their professional duties are enumerated and changes in their professional pattern, age, sex and confessional pattern that have been taking place during the 19 th and till the beginning of 20 th century are shown.
