The phenomenon of the foolishness in the literature of XIX century

This article analyzes the phenomenon of foolhood in the socio-historical perspective, the main parameters of the image of the holy fool in the n literature of the XIX century, identified the major trend of image operation and its modifications. In our work we turned to the works of Russian religious thinkers, literary critics and philosophers. The article focuses on the fact that the image of the holy fool is not uniform, but all its variations have a common dominant.
