The phenomenon of “non-standard employment”: specificity of the value system

Transformation of personal employment as well as the practice of attracting labor are examined in this article. The characteristics of non-standard, informal, atypical, unsustainable, precarious forms of employment are described. It is demonstrated that they have limitations. Consequently, the author argued that it is most appropriate to use the concept of "non-standard employment". Employees resort to this type of labor because of its advantages, such as the greater flexibility of labor for persons with various kinds of restrictions (young children, care for needy people, health restrictions, combining with other activities). At the same time, the value orientations change. Although the material component becomes dominant, it is followed by new motives - education, selfknowledge, etc. - that come to the fore. These ideas about the features of "non-standard employment" are tested in an empirical study of representatives of this type of employment.
