The administrative activity of the educational institution head aimed at defining of the strategic guidelines for the development of educational institutions in achieving quality pedagogical result. Professional competence is regarded as a leading component of the professional capacity of head’s individual of preschool educational institution. In the article define the concept of “professional competence”; review require ments to professional-administrative competence of the preschool educational institution head; the development of head personal competence in the management of preschool educational institution. This article also discuses the understanding of concept of professional - managerial competence, professional - managerial activity and professional managerial competences groups. Professional competence is considered as a socio-professional status in the implementation of professional activity. Education program considered as the document that outlines the proper quality.
