Phenomenological interpretation of nonsubstantional ego doctrine in Vajrayana philosophy

The article focuses on the philosophical interpretation of the basic concepts of Buddhist abhidharma in European phenomenology. It analyzes the different approaches to the study of the existence of «conscious self» in the philosophy of Yogacara and Madhyamaka Prasangika. Particular attention is paid to the comparative analysis of some of the provisions of the written and oral traditions of the Vajrayana and its reception in phenomenology paradigm of M. Eliade, O. Nidal, E.A. Torchinov.
