The article delves into the study of two most important elements of culture, namely power and law. Particular attention is given to the ontological characteristics of power and law as a set of long-standing traditions of human existence in social systems, and the diversity of mechanisms and models of interaction between individuals and others at certain hierarchical levels. The authors focus on the study of the anthropological component in the phe-nomena of power and law, namely their assessment in the form of a special reflection of political and legal relations, which model the interrelations between man and society in the categories of non-violence, the need to obey authority, as well as the justification of the ethics of duty, rights and freedoms of the individual, which are reflected in legal norms. The problem is posed and considered through the prism of literary and philosophical works on power and law. To trace the dynamics of transformational perceptions of these phenomena will allow us to trace the works of thinkers of the past and present: Plato, Aristotle, N. Machiavelli, G.V.F. Hegel, M. Weber, I. Ilyin, N. A. Berdyaev, etc.
