The article describes the technology of formation of seniors' ethnocultural competence as extracurricular activities. The work is connected with the acute problem of improvement of extracurricular activities at secondary school in accordance with the requirements of the federal state education standards of general (complete) secondary education. The innovation of the research is the development of the technology based on the competency buiding approach and having ethnocultural orientation. The author presents the experience of introducing the technology of festival-competition among seniors and teachers at a secondary school, and shows the features of its organization and holding.
