The value of information technology in modern society is huge and, in this regard, the study of relevant information needs is very important. Formation of the individual and social information needs associates with the development of the human psyche, with complex processes of mental reflection of the world. The philosophy of reflection, in the psyche and nature is not fully understood, especially in matters relating to the philosophy of information needs. As part of the system-evolutionary approach discussed the information needs of the individual, since the preverbal and reach a variety of verbal cognitive needs. The author analyzes the information needs of the individual in detail on the basis of work V. I. Korogodina and A.V. Sokolov. Following systemic evolutionary approach to different types of information in biology, which was used by V. I. Korogodin, addressed «to the pre-cognitive» information needs, a man inherited from higher animals. In addition, the author addes the classification of individual information requirements introduced by A.V. Sokolov and includes a class of nutrients and sociogenic needs. The author introduces the man-made individual cognitive information needs. The hypothesis of parallelism of the actions of all cognitive information needs, which allows for a fresh look at the principles of «fascination» and «maieutics» that are defined for the semantic level of information exchange by Yu.A. Schrader. The author considers the prospect of the study of group and social-information needs.
