The paper is an attempt to identify the relationship between philosophy and medicine in the formation of clinical thinking at the future doctors, the use of which is a key moment in the development of a doctor as a specialist capable of correctly diagnosing and treating various diseases. The work shows how the level of a doctor's competence is determined by the study of such humanitarian subjects as philosophy and logic. The effects of visualization of clinical thinking are briefly considered. Using the example of outstanding philosophers of the past centuries, whose activities were associated with medicine, the authors justified the obligatory study by doctors of the foundations of the humanities, which lay the foundation for such professional competencies as flexibility of thinking, orientation towards results and rationality in decision-making. The exceptional role of philosophy in the formation of clinical thinking is shown, defining a doctor as a specialist with an interdisciplinary approach in solving a specific problem, and not as an expert who thinks narrowly within his own field, despite the large baggage of medical knowledge gained during training.
