Philosophy in modern society

The purpose of the present study is to substantiate the worldview potential of philosophy in modern society. The authors focuses on peculiarities of the relationship between philosophy and special sciences. It is pointed out that the worldview function of philosophy is an important element of the modern education system, contributes to the formation of a scientific worldview. The significance of the research is that there is substantiated the heuristic potential of philosophy in solving problems related to development of scientific worldview of the younger generations. The study argues that philosophy as a theoretical activity has great potential in solving practical problems which the society faces these days. Philosophy is of particular importance in the context of complex social and political processes taking place in our society. Philosophy is able to objectively and rationally explain the essence and causes of events, performing an important social function in society.
