The article deals with the work of John Tolkien from a philosophical point of view. The author reflects on the topic of good and evil, which is still relevant today, touches on the topic of power on the example of characters from a cult work in the fantasy genre. The behavior of certain characters in a particular situation is analyzed, in a similar situation to which any real person could fall. The author cites the opinions of some philosophers and their view of the world and its structure as a whole. In conclusion, it is described that sometimes books become “more real” for us than reality, and often in books we can find answers to many questions that concern us.
