The study reveals the philosophical ideas underlying the Tragedy of Hamlet by W. Shakespeare and traces their further development. This play can be regarded as a philosophical perspective that, on the one hand, combines the pivotal thoughts of the previous historical time starting from the antique era, and on the other hand, projects the future by its similarity with many subsequent philosophical trends. This work is a philosophical and artistic center responsible for comprehending the ideas that transform the worldview of people and allow their representations to reach a more mature level of development. The tragedy which has marked the crisis of humanist ideas is a turning point in the philosophical understanding of reality, a line that separates the faith in reason from the doubt about its fruitfulness. The novelty of the study is determined by the perspective that makes it possible to shift from the generalized retrospection of the philosophical concepts of the Shakespeare’s era to their development prospects in subsequent cultures as philosophical trends. The concepts of philosophical perspective and polyphonic lines of thinking are introduced. The study reveals the deep layers of the constructions of the work and the polyphonic thinking of the great author. It is concluded that there is a maximum concentration of the most important philosophical ideas of the time in the Tragedy of Hamlet. These ideas reflect the complex transformations of human thinking. It gives impetus to new levels and models of philosophizing.
