The article examines V. Solovyov’s interpretation of Pushkin’s work in the light of his concept of “pure” or authentic poetry. It is considered that from the point of view of the primacy of the ideal, characteristic of Solovyov’s philosophy, the specificity of poetry and art as a whole consists in representing the being in its idea. The theme of inseparability of genuine poetry and the genuine poet in V. Solovyov is emphasized. The key characteristic of the latter, according to the philosopher, is that his work is carried out solely under the ingenuity of inspiration. It is argued that the reasons for the convergence of the poet and the prophet in Solovyov’s work lies in the fact that inspiration is interpreted by Solovyov as a superempirical energy of the ideal world, which not only allows contemplation of the mental images of being, but is a truly transformative force that takes a man to a superhuman level of existence. Consequently, the article suggests that inspiration in Solovyov is not specifically artistic but a universally anthropological category that transforms man and makes him capable of realizing his true purpose - the realization of the divine principle in empirical reality.
