Financial literacy and ways to improve it as a current problem of professional education

This article examines and analyzes various aspects and problems of improving financial literacy in various age groups of the population of the Russian Federation. The authors clarify concepts such as “financial literacy” and “financial awareness”. The analysis of the multi-component scientific term “consciousness” and the concept of “conscientiousness”, as well as the expression “systematic and laboriousness” as the most important components of the process of increasing the financial literacy of the population are given. The article reveals the relationship between increasing financial literacy and increasing the level of civic responsibility. Modern methods of increasing financial literacy through financial education in various age groups are proposed. The authors give the following examples: conducting regular elective courses for teachers and students of vocational education; opening of independent consulting centers, the activities of which will be controlled by the state and which will not be associated with any of the financial market players, in order to create a personal financial plan for any resident of Russia.
