The article presents the results of physiological studies on the effect of different content of extruded grain in compound feeds of Tsigay breed rams under intensive fattening on diets with a high level of concentrates. The use of 30% of extruded grain in compound feeds is considered to be the optimal proportion for high concentrate fattening, which allows to simultaneously reduce the disintegration of dry substances and crude protein in the rumen, improve metabolism and digestibility of substances in the animal body, which increases the growth rate of young animals by 7%.
