Physiological features of platelets in young cattle of the Kholmogory breed during the vegetable nutrition phase

The study is devoted to assessing the level of platelet functionality in calves of the Kholmogory breed during the phase of plant nutrition. The work was carried out on 44 healthy animals of the Kholmogory breed, which were obtained after 2-3 pregnancies from somatically healthy cows. In the examined young animals, a gradual acceleration of the onset of platelet aggregation in response to all its agonists was found. In the blood of the examined calves, a tendency to a decrease in the level of discocytes and an increase in the content of active platelets and their aggregates in it was found. The registered increase in the hemostatic capabilities of platelets was possible in the observed young animals as a result of an increase in the formation of thromboxane in them, an increase in the amount of adenosine phosphates contained, an increase in the level of actin and myosin proteins in them, and an acceleration of the process of their self-assembly in case of activation of platelets. The progressive increase in hemostatic parameters of blood platelets found in calves of the Kholmogory breed apparently has its own adaptive significance for the implementation of the phase of plant nutrition in them.
