The article deals with the importance of studying foreign languages in technical universities. Particular attention has been paid to the employment of graduates of technical specialities. The labor market having been analyzed, it was revealed that competency in a foreign language is considered to be a prerequisite for a candidate to get a prestigious position. The study has been conducted to identify the importance of studying foreign languages from the point of view of graduates and that of employers. Relevant findings have been made according to the results of the study.
