The article analyzes practical and theoretical approaches to the use of active teaching methods in history lessons. Various methodological techniques for activating the cognitive activity of schoolchildren are listed. As a result of the development of independent work skills, the quality of assimilation of historical material improves among schoolchildren. The substantiation of the importance of using a creative approach in working with schoolchildren in history lessons is considered. Depending on whether these teaching methods will be applied, the stability of reflection depends.
