Forming of future electrician readiness to ensure safety regulations when performing electric installation and adjustment works

In practice of vocational education insufficient attention is given to the training of future electricians to ensure the safety of regulations when performing electric installations and adjustment works and, in particular, to the forming of qualities and skills that meet the requirements of future electrician readiness. The importance to research the professional competence of electricians is justified by the contradiction between the need to ensure the safety of electrical works and the conventional methods of training of electricians where the psychological aspects of electrician readiness are not taken into account. The need to resolve the contradiction has lead to the formulation of the research problem: how should the conditions of training, educational content and teaching methods be changed to enable future electricians to raise their readiness aimed to ensure the safety of regulations when performing electric installations and adjustment works. The purpose of the research is to develop an innovative model of forming of future electrician readiness to ensure the safety of regulations when performing electric installations and adjustment works. The methods used in the study are: analysis of the literature on the problem under study; empirical methods (teacher observation, questioning, testing, self-assessment); analysis of the educational programs and regulatory documents; analysis of the best practices; modeling; analysis of the outcomes; generalization and systematization. The components of readiness for the specialty 270843 “Installation, adjustment and operating of electrical equipment for industrial and civil buildings” were identified namely motivational, orientation and operational ones. The model of forming of future electrician readiness to ensure the safety of regulations when performing electric installations and adjustment works was developed. The content of the readiness components was identified. The innovative model of the educational process aimed to develop the readiness of future electricians to ensure the safety of regulations when performing electric installations and adjustment works was developed. The paper outcomes can be used to develop the methodological and technological support of the educational process for the students of the specialty 270843 “Installation, adjustment and operating of electrical equipment for industrial and civil buildings”.
