Formation of grammar skills based on poetic text in English lessons in 5th grade

The article deals with the problem of the formation of grammar skills among 5th grade students in English lessons using poetic text. In modern schools, where there is a tendency to decrease motivation for learning foreign languages, the search for effective and interesting teaching methods is a priority. Poetry, as a form of literary creativity, has significant potential to solve this problem. It is able to attract the attention of students with its imagery, rhythm and emotional intensity, creating favorable conditions for learning foreign language grammar. The purpose of this research is to explore the possibilities of integrating poetic texts into the grammar learning process in 5th grade in order to improve the effectiveness of grammar skills formation. The article discusses in detail the advantages of using poetry in teaching grammar, such as increasing interest in the material being studied, developing linguistic guessing, expanding vocabulary, and building communicative competence. Various types of exercises and tasks are offered aimed at working out grammar rules and constructions based on poetic texts, including analyzing grammatical phenomena, transforming sentences, filling in gaps and composing your own poems using the studied grammatical structures. The importance of choosing poetic texts appropriate to the age characteristics and language proficiency of students is emphasized, as well as the need to create a favorable emotional atmosphere in the classroom.
