Formation of the Civic Position of Future Lawyers in the Conditions of a Legal Clinic

The importance of forming the civic position of future lawyers is substantiated. The purpose of this article is to identify the potential of legal clinics of higher educational institutions as a means of forming the civic position of future lawyers. The defi nitions of the phenomenon “civic position of future lawyers” as values, attitudes, human participation in the life of society, attitudes and personal qualities are analyzed. Its structural components are identifi ed: informational and knowledgeable (civic ideas), motivational and value (motives of civic behavior), refl exive and behavioral (civic feelings) and activity-practical (civic activity). A working definition of the civic position of a future lawyer is presented. The role of legal clinics in the process of professional training of future lawyers and the formation of their civic position, primarily its activity-practical component, is considered. The principles of the activities of legal clinics, a proposal for creating regulations for the provision of legal assistance in them are formulated, directions for improving the professional training of future lawyers in a legal clinic are described. Further prospects for the study are shown.
