Forming the language personality of information and library professionals: issues of theory and methodology

The article reveals the problems of language of information and library professionals, also the concepts and definitions related to the term "linguistic identity" are presented in the article. Moreover in the article are described the approaches to the implementation of linguistic identity, structure and levels of linguistic identity, also the problematic situation in the concept of linguistic identity. The article reveals the question about the quality of foreign language teaching and the hypothesis about the appropriateness of applying the concept of linguistic identity as a theoretical justification of the model language training for the future of information and library professionals in the universities of culture are also presented in the article. The views of various authors on the mechanisms of formation and the implementation of language personality in the process of preparation of future information and library professionals whose professional activity is associated with information resources, in conditions of higher professional education are also presented in the article.
