Employing innovative technologies to form ecological competence in schoolchildren

This paper discusses various methodical approaches to education in order to activate individual research ability of schoolchildren, improve their practical and systematic thinking skills, broaden and enhance their competence. High school allows graduates diverse personal, cultural and cognitive development. Key competence shift from senior to high school graduate is aided by supplementary education. Innovative technologies applied to biology (as a foundation of scientific education) serve as an example to form ecological competence. Summer school is proved to form key student competences and raise their cultural level. The research concludes that summer biological schools are the best avenue to implement competence approach and form ecological conscience with respectful approach to nature.
