The formation of aesthetic principles of postmodernism architecture

The article considers the process of formation of the principles of postmodernism architecture of the second half of the twentieth century. This time is marked by the crisis and break the old traditions in culture and art. Based on the analysis of the architectural practice of postmodernism the author identifies key aesthetic principles of the language of architecture of this period. Modern architect is free when starting a new object, to create their own rules, languages, styles, following the principle of pluralism of linguistic discourse. It is also worth noting retrospectivity architectural image using the «citation» traditional motifs in a resolutely contemporary compositions. The facade of the postmodern building is now a message of a particular «message», the message of purpose and belonging to other structures or entities, its history and time of occurrence, etc. It allows decoration and ornament, emblematic and symbolic expression in architectural form. Also important characteristic of postmodern architecture is a manifestation of the principle of theatricality, that is conditional division of the architectural object «auditorium» and «scene» that creates a new aesthetics of existence in the space of subjects of perception.
