Formation of communicative competence of the penitentiary officers included in the negotiation group

Introduction. The practice of negotiating in aggravated operational situation shows that a significant role in the success is played by the negotiator's personality, his proficiency and professionally important qualities, among which communicative knowledge, skills and abilities are of special importance. The purpose is to analyze and synthesize theoretical material and practical experience in the formation of communicative competence of employees of the penal correctional system, who are members of the negotiation group. Materials, Results and Discussion. The examination of communicative competencies as necessary conditions to conduct negotiations within the penitentiary system is presented. The paper comprises the analysis of the experience of psychological work on the formation of communicative competence of the employees who are members of the negotiation group. The factors that hinder the establishment and maintenance of optimal interaction with inmates when resolving emergency situations are under consideration.
