The article examines the ways of forming the speech culture of students in Russian language lessons. Lessons that use a competency-based approach can help students develop targeted communication skills and awareness of their speech activity. The study of the main types of speech activity involves solving a complex set of theoretical and practical tasks necessary to improve the culture of speech.
