Formation of the concept of separation of powers in the Russian political system during the constitutional reform of 1989-1993

The article pays attention to the characteristic features of the introduction of the principle of separation of powers in the political system of Russia in the period from 1989 to 1993. The article analyzes the main political reforms of the perestroika period in the Soviet Union, assesses the first steps towards the establishment of the principles of democracy and notes the contradictions of the measures implemented by the authorities. The author attempts to assess the role of the events of 1989-1993 in the consolidation of the principle of separation of powers at the constitutional level and the powers of each of the branches of the government.
