The article studies the problem of the reaction of the American press to an attempted coup in Germany in 1923. The reasons for the "Beer Hall Putsch" from the point of view of the press were studied. It shows how the process of accumulating information about the putsch, the role and attitude of various representatives of the US press to him, and the international reaction to the formation of Nazism. The role of Hitler in the coup attempt is analyzed. The direct influence of the opinions of the chief editors of large American newspapers on the formation of information on the coup in Germany is proved. An analysis of the reaction of the US press to the «Beer Hall Putsch» shows that American newspapers in the first days of events took them under their close observation. Moreover, the trends typical for the central press (coverage of international events, the desire for analytics and forecasts), also characteristic of small local periodicals. Information support of the Beer Putsch shows that already in 1923 the US press was clearly divided in assessments about the most important issue: to support the rebels or to condemn them. It is shown as an image of the "Beer Hall Putsch" influenced in the future on the policy of pacification of the aggressors. An analysis of the reaction of the US press to the Beer Putsch shows that American newspapers in the first days of events took them under their close observation. Moreover, the trends characteristic of the central press (coverage of international events, the desire for analytics and forecasts), also characteristic of small local periodicals. Information support of the Beer Putsch shows that already in 1923 the US press clearly disagreed on the most important question: support the rebels or condemn them.
