Shaping the political role of youth in the context of “Internet” politics: mobilization, risks, prospects

This study is aimed at understanding the formation of socio-political guidelines for modern youth and identifying the factors that determine their integration into the political sphere in the conditions of “mediatization” and “internetization” of social life. The article substantiates the specifics of the mobilization component of online and electronic media in the process of forming political consciousness and behavior of modern youth. The rapidly changing space of the Internet determines the specific vector of socialization of Russian youth, which affects its political subjectivity. The analysis showed that the problems of hygiene of media policy, media literacy and improving the information culture of young people remain archival, given the new challenges of information security. The formation of political orientations and values of young citizens is taking place under the increasing influence of the global Network and therefore the range of risks of cyber-socialization of the young person is quite wide. The work focuses on the risks and threats that network media entails. It is justified that media educational technologies to increase media literacy, media culture and media intelligence of young citizens contribute to the effective implementation of their socio-political subjectivity.
