The article analyzes the practical skills of using the methods of forming the conceptual apparatus of schoolchildren. Various ways of achieving the set goals are listed. As a result of developing skills of working with concepts, the quality of assimilation of historical material improves among schoolchildren. The substantiation of the importance of using a creative approach in working with concepts and terms is considered. Depending on whether this principle is applied, the stability of reflection depends.
