The article presents the technology of forming the systematized representations about professions in senior preschool age. The scientific study of pedagogical conditions contributing to the formation of ideas about the world of professions in the senior preschool age was conducted on the basis of the pre-school educational institution № 2 «Medvezhonok» (Karsun, the Ulyanovsk region, Russia). The technological map of forming the representations about the profession «Tailor» is provided within the topic «Our clothes» aimed at the senior group of the kindergarten. Because of the changes taking place in the modern sphere of work, the problem of introducing children into the understanding of «professions of the future», «local history information» and «labor» is raised. The article suggests the issues for further research. How can preschool education respond to the society's request for the professional skills and skills of future workers? Should the systematized ideas about professions introduced in pre-school organizations take into account the fact that such working professions as a postman and a highly professional agricultural worker will become obsolete by 2020, and the country may need cyberprotezists and designers of virtual worlds? Is it necessary to prepare today's children for the fact that in a few years there will be a need for professions that their parents do not even know about, which their parents do not have skills for, and how to make them ready for it?
