The article proves the necessity for developing professional flexibility of secondary vocational college students within the framework of competency-based approach. It shows a strong interrelation of such notions as «professional flexibility» and «professional competency». It views the development of mathematical component in professional flexibility as a structural element of mid-level specialist's professional flexibility as a whole.
