Formation of professional competencies for future police officers in the universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia by means of CLIL-technologies

The article summarizes the experience of introducing the subject-language integrated learning into the pedagogical practice of a law higher school. Based on the application of general scientific research methods (observation, analysis, synthesis and description), the estimate is given to the experience and perspectives of using specific didactic methods and teaching materials in the framework of the subject-language integrated approach to training at the Barnaul Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, in particular for the cadets’ formation of general cultural and professional competences. The authors consider the development and formation of general cultural and professional competencies among the cadets of the universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia as a process of interaction of various academic disciplines with the application of CLIL technologies. The linguistic integrated education (CLIL) is a competence approach to teaching and one of the promising directions of linguodidactics, which allows you to study a profile subject by means of a foreign language and a language through the teaching of the subject. The conducted study of the levels of general cultural and professional competences formation among 2nd-year cadets of the high school of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia showed a low level of knowledge (threshold level) and skills in disciplines with the same competences (foreign language and international law). This led to the need to refer to the pedagogical experience of foreign countries (EU), which use the innovative integrated approach CLIL at all levels of training. The results of the control and evaluation assignments after a series of practical integrated sessions in the group showed positive dynamics in the development and formation of the competences studied. The authors find CLIL methods to be effective and promising in teaching foreign languages and legal subjects at high schools of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
