This article discusses the main principles of using ICT tools in teaching English in order to develop the socio-cultural competence of students of primary General education. The main components of communicative competence and the main means of ICT in foreign language lessons are considered. Examples of practical use of ICT tools for the development of socio-cultural competence in English lessons in grade 4 are given. The effectiveness of using ICT in foreign language lessons has been proved. Interest in the subject increases, historical and country-specific facts are more effectively assimilated, and creative potential is revealed.
