Transcendentalism forming in philosophy of Rene Descartes

The paper examines the formation process of the classical new European transcendental tradition, examines the main postulates of this philosophical trend. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the analysis of the epistemological and heuristic status of those provisions, through which the formation of Western European transcendentalism took place, and those provisions that hindered its systematization. It is shown that Rene Descartes formulated the foundations of classical transcendental metaphysics. In the concept of Descartes, the assumption of the existence of God is not only a characteristic feature of his transcendental system, but also serves as an obstacle to its completion, since with this approach the mind retained its claims to knowledge of the transcendent. Immanuel Kant recognized the knowledge of supersensible essences as fundamentally impossible and completed transcendentalism as a system, excluding God from it as a theoretical concept.
