This work is devoted to the study of the role of artistic reading in the development of creative abilities of younger schoolchildren. The relevance of the topic is due to the need to form the creative potential of primary school children for successful adaptation to modern educational and social conditions. The purpose of the research is to identify effective techniques and techniques that promote the development of imagination, associative thinking and creativity through working with artistic text. During the pedagogical experiment, it was found that the integration of active reading, creative tasks and discussions contributes to a significant increase in the level of creativity of students.
