Formation of the creative component in education

The article considers the problem of education of a creative personality in a technical university. In the conditions of the increased role of an engineer in the modern world, this problem requires further improvement. Training of engineering personnel in a technical university along with studying descriptive geometry, theoretical mechanics, and other disciplines also provides for humanitarian training. Descriptive geometry, which is a continuation of school stereometry, contributes to this in the best way. To this end, starting from the first year, students are invited to participate in research activities, the object of which can be "impossible" figures, invented by artists. The use of the projection method, computer modeling tools, and the creation of mock-ups and electronic models of these figures provides the process with a special attraction.
