The formation of students’ interest in reading classical literature as a scientific and pedagogical problem

In the article the development of interest in reading, the introduction of children to reading are presented as a scientific and pedagogical problem. The forms and methods of working with children in the process of familiarizing children with reading classical literature are considered. The possibilities of libraries to form students’ interest in classics through organizing and holding various events in the library, the role of the book in mastering the educational material, activating the cognitive activity of children, and their moral development are revealed.
