The article is devoted to the problem of the formation of educational motivation among younger schoolchildren in English lessons, which is an urgent task in the context of the introduction of modern educational technologies and methods in the practice of teaching foreign languages. Increasing the motivation of primary school students contributes to the successful acquisition of a foreign language and the development of communicative competence. The purpose of the study is to identify the main psychological and pedagogical features of motivation formation in younger schoolchildren and to describe effective methods of stimulating it in English lessons. The article examines the influence of personal interest, the teacher's pedagogical style, the social environment and the use of game and interactive teaching methods, as well as modern information and communication technologies on the formation of a sufficient level of educational motivation among schoolchildren.
