Formation of a “green” economy and sustainability of development of the country and regions

The growth of social tension and environmental problems caused by the use of traditional approaches to the management of economic entities at all levels, causes interest in a new methodological apparatus for managing development. Solution of the existing problems is related to the orientation of society on the concept of sustainable and inclusive development, as well as green economy. What determines the color of the economy? Does transition to a green economy mean rejection of technological development, and how innovative is brown economy? What is the “color” of the Russian economy, and what are the prospects for its change? This work is devoted to the listed questions. The conceptual framework of concepts “sustainable development” and “inclusive development”, as well as the interrelations between them, including attitude to the use of financial, human and natural, as well as social, economic and environmental components of development are analyzed in the article. A comparative analysis of the models of the “green” and “brown” economies was carried out according to the criteria of economic, ecological and social components. Negative consequences are considered, to which following the model of the "brown" economy leads. The importance of the "green" economy in the context of solving global challenges facing humanity is considered. The investment activity of developed countries into renewable energy sources, as well as that of Russia into the field of efficient use of energy resources, is considered. Tendencies have been identified in the transition of developed countries to renewable energy sources as one of the indicators of the transition to a green economy. The factors and causes that are the causes of the ecological instability of the Russian economy are singled out. The key directions of the transition of the Russian economy to the model of the “green” economy are determined.
