Phraseological units including lexical unit “fish” in Norwegian and Spanish languages

The article is devoted to the influence of national and cultural identity and ethnic values on using of phraseological units including lexical unit “fish” in Norwegian and Hispanic speech. The author focuses on the mentality of Norwegian and Hispanic ethnic groups and axiological factor which affects phraseological level. The relevance of the topic is stipulated by the fact that axiological-linguistic approach allows marking out the ethnic values and demonstrating how it determines the speech and behavior of communicants and explains the origin of particular phraseological units. The purpose of the article is to identify the cultural identity and valuable submissions of Norwegians and Hispanic to demonstrate their influence on using of phraseological units in a communicative process in Spanish and Norwegian language (bokmål). The author comes to conclusion that the valuable submissions of Norwegians and Hispanic show themselves in the communicative process and determine language behavior of the partners and their choice of verbal means. The method of continuous sampling and the methods of linguistic observation and description were used to solve the problem. The examples of phraseological units from oral and written speech of Norwegians and Hispanic were taken for the analyses. On the basis of language material analysis, the significance of the values of traditions and culture, confidence and honesty is determined and their influence is shown. The results are of interest for Scandinavian and Hispanic studies, axiolinguistics and general linguistics and are applicable for teaching Norwegian language, cross-cultural communication and cultural linguistics. References are recommended for writing course papers and thesis.
