There are considered the phraseological units of joy state in Russian, English and Tatar. Most part of them is equivalent and is characterized by the developed image system. There are provided the images that are the basis of lacuna idioms. The detailed analysis of phraseological units in these languages is given; it makes the conclusion about their mutual and different attributes.
